G'day all :)
Lately I have been hacking and configuring away on a few new projects I have been working on. One of them is LovablePets.org which I am becoming proud of. The system is working great I think, and is starting to feel like a real professional website.
Comments? Suggestions? Try using it if you have time or even post something! :D

Car Photos
Well here are a few snaps on the car in our car port. Please ignore the old bed, we just don't care enough to move it out ;-)

My Dad also gave me a test for checking if the clutch is slipping and if the engine is sound (a rough test). So on our way to the markets I started out in first gear then kicked it into fourth and floored it, the little trooper picked up speed! Kick ass.

Viva la travel!
If my spanish wasn't so crap I would know what travel was ;p
Well this morning we have gotten up at 6:30am in the morning on a saturday to drive to a huge market held out in the middle of no where. We are doing this because previous to having the car (which is fully legal with plates!!) we failed at trying to get to it with public transport.
So this morning we are gonna drive there, a small victory but just one of the many things which we can now do. The way I figure it, we tried living without a car for two years and the public transport failed us. SO out with the gas emissions! :-D and you know with a little 1.5L car from 1997 we are some polutors and a-half.
Well off to the markets!

Car - Almost a reality!
Well the mechanics have had their way with the vehicle and it is now certified Road Worthy (which is required by law) and thankfully only has to be done ONCE for the lifetime of registration :) Today I will go down and get it registered and get the plates and we are set!
Then we can go to the coast on the weekend (45 min drive) or up into the hinterlands (45 min drive) or even just to the grocery store! WOOT! I think it was a bit idealist to think that here would-be or CAN-BE like japan as far as public transport... So we now have a car :) Here is the breakdown total for the car.
2700 at auction
40 to fill up the gas tank
300 insurance for a year
570 for safety work which was required and inspection
50 for registration for a year
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3660 AUD not bad in my opinion for a decent little car ;-)

G'Day
Holas to everyone!
Few things on the books for day just want to let everyone know I have changed the default permissions on this Blog so anyone can post, even if your not signed up. So comment away if you have free time or just like hurling abuse.
Other things I am up to? I have gotten into Fair Trade coffee lately, if you love coffee I think its worth spending the time to check it out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_trade which basically means you pay a few extra bucks for that pound of coffee and the farmers of the 3rd world countries get the cash and not the supermarkets and the coffee shops. And since I love pissing in peoples shoes I am more then happy to fork out an extra few bucks so some fat cats miss out.
Speaking of cats, some of you might have noticed the link on the right there? www.lovablepets.org? Its a new project I am doing to see if I can get a website to take off. I am about.... 40% done at the moment but hope to have a good amount of content updated shortly.

Auction...... SOLD!
Well we have acquired a 1997 Ford Festiva for 2700 AUD at the auction this morning :-) We payed the 500 buck deposit and now need to get it registered and safety inspected. So rounding up the whole package is gonna cost us only 3k!
Auction was high energy for sure! The cars were driven in front of us and then the bidding started. I swear it only lasted a few minutes for each auction to take place. The car we got was the 2nd one I bid on! heheh They had some messed up cars there that went for 200 bucks, and obviously we avoided that stuff.
Yes we know it is a decade old but hey if it lasts for 3 years I will be very happy! :) Cheaper then renting that is for sure.

Charging Ahead
It's all coming together lately. Tomorrow we will go to the car auction place and see if we can't score a pile of nuts and bolts to drive us around (pic will be coming if we do) as well as finishing off the home loan applications. Once all that is sorted we are in the clear for house hunting!
Say goodbye to our weekends! haha
The houses we are looking at are between 600-1000 Sq Meters which is a decent size for around the city area. One of the strange things about ozzie land is all the windows are single pane! That is going to be one of the first things I try and get changed once we find a place; get rid of that single pane crap and get some good solid double or triple pane windows in there :D Sound proof as much as I can hehe
Ah! I also hope to get a bicycle this weekend and start riding to work. We will be in our apt for a few more months so why not ride :)

SF
Well the San Francisco bit of the trip is coming together! The Hotel is booked and I am looking into the wine tour to see if they can pick us up at the hotel :)
Now thats living! Having someone pick you up at the hotel and drive you around different booze spots. Ahhh the good life.

Weekend geekness
Well another weekend is here and this one looks like it is going to be quite. Probably going to to be trudging through the net looking for bargains and such for the one/two new computers we are going to be building soon!
Score!
Might be enough parts left over to build a cut down linux server which will be very nice if we can get that going!

Car
Auction Time!
We are going to a car auction this morning. If all goes well then we should have a nice car secure for not as much cash as we would spend at a dealer. What makes us think this is good stuff is that dealers come to this auction to buy their cars (some of them)! So we can skip the dealer car wash and hopefully save a small pile of cash.
